Historiadores cuentan que luego de tres meses, lleg\u00f3 la larga caravana y los primeros pobladores eligieron para instalarse el \u201cRinc\u00f3n de la T\u00eda Ana\u201d, y tras que el agrimensor realizara la mensura, deslinde y amanzanamiento del futuro poblado del 22 al 26 de enero, el coronel Bernab\u00e9 Rivera fund\u00f3 la villa bajo el nombre de San Fructuoso un 27 de enero de 1832. Ram\u00f3n de C\u00e1ceres hizo el primer rancho de la Villa donde se ubica en el presente la Catedral. Otros primeros pobladores fueron Jos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda Navajas, Cornelio Cantera y Lorenzo Fern\u00e1ndez. Pas\u00f3 el tiempo y la comunidad continu\u00f3 creciendo. Para el a\u00f1o 1837 San Fructuoso era una villa en crecimiento. Contaba con m\u00e1s de 500 habitantes, juez de paz, jefe militar, cura p\u00e1rroco, alcaldes y una Comisi\u00f3n de Obras P\u00fablicas. El 17 de junio de 1912, la villa de San Fructuoso fue elevada de categor\u00eda y, conjuntamente con ello, cambi\u00f3 su nombre por la Ley 4.031, por lo cual pas\u00f3 a llamarse \u201cTacuaremb\u00f3\u201d.
